Graduation

Legal requirements for the student to be able to graduate:

  • To have passed all courses of your course degree;
  • To have successfully completed the Mandatory Internship, meeting the deadlines established by the Course Coordination;
  • To have passed the TCC - Course Completion Work, satisfying the determinations established by the Course Coordination;
  • To have their complete documentation at the Registrar’s Office.

GRANTING A DEGREE is an official act by Facens, directed at the student completing the Undergraduate Course; in compliance with the requirements contained in its Regulations, Facens confers a degree and issues the corresponding Diploma.

The Graduation Granting Ceremony is the most important of the Institution, as it represents the completion of years of academic work by students, professors and staff. It demonstrates, before society, Facens' efforts to fulfill its mission: to develop professional citizens.

The Granting of Grade is the responsibility of the Dean of Facens, and, in his absence or impediment, the hierarchy must be obeyed, by power of the same.

The Ceremony is directed and chaired by Facens; attitudes that mischaracterize the solemn nature of the ceremony will not be tolerated.

Minute

The preparation of the DEGREE GRANTING Minutes is the responsibility of the Registrar’s Office and must be signed by all graduates, being a basic condition for receiving the Diploma.

Invitation

The preparation and model of the invitation are at the discretion of the Graduation Committee, and must contain the following structure:

Speeches by Paranymphs

The order of mandatory speeches at the Graduation Ceremony is:

  • Speaker (1 for each course)
  • Patronus (unique for all courses)
  • Dean

Speaker's Speech

The speaker will be a trainee chosen by his colleagues. He should write the speech and submit it to the trainees. In the speaker's speech, there should be mention of the importance of the figure of the patron and/or paranymph, highlighting relevant points of academic life, as well as stating their expectations for the future. The speech should be brief: 3 minutes.

Patron's Speech

Patronus or Patroness of the courses.

Those completing all courses will choose a Patron, who may or may not be a member of Facens. The Patronus is the professional in whom the students are inspired, seen as an example. This homage can also be made in memoriam.

It is suggested, for practical reasons, a brief pronouncement: 3 minutes.

Paranymphs of the courses

The graduates of each course also elect the Paranymph. Usually chosen among Professors, Course Coordinators, Administrative Technicians, Dean or Vice-Dean. At the ceremony, he will deliver the diploma at the head of the table, by delegation of the Dean.

Oratory

The choice of speaker must be made by the students of each of the courses (1 per course).

To compete for the oratory, the candidate must be able to the Graduation, without any type of pendency with the Institution. The candidate for speaker must present the proposal of his speech in writing.

Oath

The nomination of the student who will take the professional oath must be made by all students of all courses (swearing - only 1 student). In order to run for Jurmentist, the candidate must be able to attend the Graduation, without any kind of pending issue with Facens.

The text of the Oath will be passed to the student by the secretary.

In the oath, the concluding ones will stand, right arm raised, following the initial text with determination and enthusiasm.

Tributes

In general, the honorees are teachers or technical-administrative staff who, during the course, earned the recognition and gratitude of the class.

The Master of Ceremonies invites graduates chosen by colleagues to pay homage (Patron, Paraninfos, Teachers, Employees and Parents).

We remind you that a large number of honorees may mischaracterize the tribute.

Tributes can be carried out by reading a text and/or delivering a treat, according to the interest of the trainees.

Photo and Filming

Through a contract, Facens accredited a company as a provider of imaging services to its trainees; it will cover the photos and footage of the graduation ceremony, not being allowed to record images by any other company. The contract requires exclusivity, except for an official Facens photographer.

Trainees, family members and guests will not be allowed access to the event venue with cameras and camcorders.

Other information

The concluding party must arrive at the ceremony venue dressed in the gown; without it, the graduate will not be able to earn a degree.

We suggest the use of closed shoes, socks, pants or a skirt, all in black. Also, avoid tight skirts and very thin heels.

The use of confetti, streamers and the like inside the hall is not allowed.

Facens does not allow the use of whistles, horns, banners and the like, so this type of demonstration cannot be planned.
